In recent years Mozilla has also focused on maximizing browsing area by simplifying toolbar controls to just a Firefox button (which contains settings and options) and back/forward buttons. They created the tab structure that has been adopted by most other browsers. Mozilla put of a lot of resources into creating a simple but effective UI aimed at making browsing quicker and easier. The browser is particularly popular with developers thanks to its open source development and active community of advanced users. The key features that have made Mozilla Firefox so popular are the simple and effective UI, browser speed and strong security capabilities. Since then, Mozilla Firefox has consistently featured in the top 3 most popular browsers globally and this is set to continue thanks to the release of Firefox 30.

At its public launch in 2004 Mozilla Firefox was the first browser to challenge Microsoft Internet Explorer’s dominance. Therefore, it is still good to see developers giving those unable to upgrade a supported and up-to-date mainstream browser.Mozilla Firefox is a fast, light and tidy open source web browser.

However, it is not all black and white, and some users cannot move to Windows 10 or 11. Of course, sticking to a now-outdated operating system with no security updates is a questionable decision. In November 2022, Mozilla said Firefox still has "a lot of users on Windows 7," and keeping their test machines running for a little longer would not make a big difference. Furthermore, the development team has yet to pick a specific date to stop supporting Firefox on outdated operating systems. Moreover, the browser will receive security updates and fixes until at least Q3 2024. Mike Kaply, a Mozilla employee, has revealed that Firefox 115 ESR (due to arrive on July 4, 2023) will support Windows 7 and 8.1. Initially, Mozilla Foundation considered pulling the plug for the browser on the now-dead operating system in August 2023, but the revised plans now give users much more time. According to a new post on Firefox's bug tracker website, Mozilla does not plan to end Firefox support on Windows 7 and 8.1 any time soon.
